This art installation is a sculptural project created as part of my series, “CHECKMATE”… (circa 2025). It takes inspiration from the classical game of chess and focuses on the correlation between headdresses and identity.
I wanted to make a rendition of chess and make it more multi-player. Encouraging people to one engage with the art, engage with each other, and to be mindful of the ‘moves’ that comes with the identity.
It has been shown and activated at my exhibition, Parkville Market and The Wadsworth Atheneum. Maybe the next activation could be at your event or venue.
